About 8 months ago, be quiet!’s Dark Rock series launched the Elite and Pro 5 CPU air coolers for the enthusiast users but fear not, the standard and budget gang can finally enjoy the much tamer Dark Rock 5.

be quiet! Dark Rock 5 2

While the aforementioned models run dual tower designs to give the maximum heat dissipation rate but not everyone runs an ATX or E-ATX PC case, therefore the Dark Rock 5 comes in clutch to serve those needs in a single-tower form factor while maintaining its award-winning cooling performance.

The biggest improvement delivered by the 5th iteration is all thanks to the 6x heat pipes connected to the asymmetrical heat sink for the fastest heat-removing process while the Silent Wings 4 120mm PWM fan balances air pressure and operation noise to the best. If one needs just a bit more cooling, just slap an additional Silent Wings 4 120mm PWM onto the other side.

be quiet! also did a little revamp on the mounting which now has a pre-fixed mounting bridge and screws for easy installation while the magnetic mesh top cover grants access to them quickly as well as hiding the heat pipe from plain sight. The nickel-based heat plate makes it so that you may use liquid metal thermal grease to reduce any sort of cooling bottleneck.

Price and Availability

Backed by a 3-year warranty, the be quiet! Dark Rock 5 will be on shelves starting June 25 at the price of US$69.90, EU€69.90, and GB£64.99.
