Tenable has introduced new Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) and Artificial Intelligence Security Posture Management (AI-SPM) capabilities within its Tenable Cloud Security platform, designed to tackle cloud data and AI security risks. These enhancements extend exposure management to cloud data and AI, addressing two of the most significant emerging threats.

As cloud environments grow increasingly complex, managing this complexity has resulted in avoidable security gaps stemming from misconfigurations, risky entitlements, and vulnerabilities, which put sensitive data and AI resources at risk. According to Tenable Research, 38% of organizations are dealing with the “toxic cloud triad” which are cloud workloads that are publicly exposed, critically vulnerable, and highly privileged.

Tenable Cloud Security addresses risks across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, including vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and excessive privileges that affect both data and AI resources. The integration of DSPM and AI-SPM allows users to automatically discover, classify, and assess sensitive data risks using flexible, agentless scanning. With its user-friendly interface, Tenable Cloud Security provides security teams with the ability to easily answer key questions, such as, “What type of data do I have in the cloud and where is it stored?” “What AI resources are at risk, and how can I fix the issue?” and “Who has access to my sensitive cloud and AI data?”

AI-SPM features enable customers to confidently move forward with AI adoption by enforcing best practices for AI and machine learning configurations and securing training data. Combined with Tenable’s Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management (CIEM) and Cloud Workload Protection (CWP) capabilities, AI-SPM helps manage AI entitlements, reduce exposure risks, and protect critical AI and machine learning training data to ensure data integrity.

Available to all Tenable Cloud Security and Tenable One customers, these new features provide the ability to:

  • Achieve comprehensive visibility and understanding of cloud and AI data: Tenable Cloud Security continuously monitors multi-cloud environments to discover and classify data, assign sensitivity levels, and prioritize risks based on the entire cloud attack surface
  • Prioritize and address cloud risks effectively: Supported by vulnerability intelligence from Tenable Research, context-driven analytics give security teams prioritized, actionable guidance to remediate the most critical cloud exposures
  • Proactively detect cloud and AI data exposure: Identity and access insights help security teams reduce data exposure in multi-cloud environments and AI resources by monitoring access and usage patterns and detecting anomalies

To help more people learn about the newly enhanced Tenable Cloud Security, the organization will be hosting a webinar on October 22, 2024, at 10 AM BST and 11 AM ET and you may register if you’re interested.
