MYStartup is once again in collaboration with the Malaysian startup accelerator Watchtower and Friends (WTF), announcing the return of the MYStartup Pre-Accelerator Programme.

Running from June through September 2024, elected startups will participate in a customized module designed to accelerate development and growth via provided access to extensive resources, including world-class mentorship and an outcome-based curriculum. The top 5 startups with the most promising outcomes will also qualify for an intensive fundraising accelerator program to receive additional support and ensure their success beyond the pre-accelerator phase.

The MYStartup Pre-Accelerator Cohort 4 Programme offers early-stage startups a comprehensive four-month learning experience. With three weekly sessions, each lasting three hours, the program covers:

  • Week 1: Founders’ Foundations – Aligning co-founder goals, crafting mission and vision statements, and using OKRs.
  • Week 2: Business Model Canvas – Developing business models, customer profiling, and market analysis.
  • Week 3: Minimum Viable Product (MVP)*- Designing MVPs, resource specifications, and launch roadmaps.
  • Week 4: Market Validation – Conducting validation research, gathering user feedback, and iterating MVPs.
  • Week 5: Early-stage Fundamentals – Exploring valuations, funding, legal documents, and pitching techniques.
  • Week 6: ESG for Startups – Understanding Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), governance, and aligning startups with SDGs.

This structured program which is also part of an initiative by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) led by said MyStartup organization,  equips participants with the essential knowledge and tools to build and scale successful startups in addition bridging the gap between innovative ideas and viable businesses and foster a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation.

Past success cohorts see the likes of Deepsight secure an RM100,000 grant and successfully launch products on Google Play and the App Store while forming strategic partnerships with other players in the industry. Additionally, startups such as Rabt, PropMoth, and PyceHub are negotiating potential investments estimated at RM1.5 million collectively.
